Scan a receipt and split by item

Updated 23 Jul 2026

Equal splits are unfair when one person had a salad and another had three courses. Receipt scanning splits line by line.

  1. 1Add an expense and scan

In Add expense, tap the scan option and photograph the receipt. The items and prices appear as a list. (Scanning needs a signed-in account — it's the one feature the join-link alone can't do.)

  2. 2Assign items to people

Tap each item and mark who shared it. Shared starters can be split across several people.

  3. 3Save

Each person's share is the sum of their items. Taxes and tips spread proportionally.
