Send goods for job-work and take them back

Updated 26 Jul 2026

  1. 1Issue the job-work

Jobwork → + Issue jobwork. Pick the jobworker, keep or change the challan number, set the date, and add an expected return date if you have one. Then list the styles and quantities going out.

  2. 3Receive it back

When the goods come back, tap Receive on that challan and enter two numbers per line: good pieces and defective pieces. Write the defect note — in three months you'll want to know why.

  3. 4Watch it reconcile

Each row shows issued, received and still pending. It stays open until everything is accounted for, and it turns overdue if the expected return date passes with pieces still out.

Why defects don't go back into stock

Only good pieces return to sellable stock. Defective pieces close the challan — your vendor has handed them back, so they're no longer pending with him — but they don't become stock, because they aren't stock you can sell. Counting them would quietly inflate every figure that depends on stock: your valuation, your reorder suggestions, your low-stock alerts.

If a defective piece is repaired and becomes sellable later, add it back with ± Stock and say so in the reason.

💡 The Make more list on the Overview only appears once you've recorded job-work receipts — that's how LoomFlow knows a style is made in-house rather than bought in.
