Stock left one shop and hasn't arrived at the other

Updated 26 Jul 2026

Where it has gone

The moment you dispatch a transfer, those units come off the source. They're added to the destination only when someone receives them. In between they sit in a bucket of their own: in transit. Neither shop's on-hand figure includes them, and that is not a bug.

Why it isn't counted at both ends

The alternative is counting the same goods twice — once at the shop that no longer has them, once at the shop that hasn't got them yet. Then your business total is wrong, your stock value is wrong and your reorder advice is wrong. Keeping goods on the road in their own column is the only version where every number stays true.

Where to see it

Switch to 🌐 All locations. Inventory shows an In transit tile marked "At no location yet", and any style with goods on the road carries a small ↗ figure beside its count. Transfers shows the same thing as pieces on the road, next to the transfer they belong to.

If it never turns up

Receive whatever did arrive — part receipts are normal. Anything genuinely lost keeps showing as on the road, which is exactly right: it's stock you've paid for and haven't got. That figure, and the printed transfer challan, are your case with whoever carried it.
